Peninsula Ballet Theatre is is the process of collaborating with many Bay Area international dance organizations in order to launch the “Peninsula International Dance Festival,” July 16 and 17, 2022, at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center.  

 

We aspire to establish this International Dance Festival as an annual event, a powerful dance showcase of the Bay Area’s diverse community and a highlight of the summer season on the Peninsula. 

 

The idea for this festival grew out of PBT’s partnerships with the many outstanding organizations and artists who teach at our expansive dance center in San Mateo. The urge to create, dance and reconnect with audiences has never been greater or more-timely than now, and we hope you agree. 

 

Carlos Carvajal, Peninsula Ballet Theatre’s Artistic Director Emeritus, as well as former Artistic Director of the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival is working closely with our current Artistic Director Greg Amato and the directors of our partners to weave a production that captures the joy and passion of the common language of dance and music.
